Manus Mitigation, Inc. PBC is a veteran-owned Colorado Public Benefit Corporation founded in 2015 with the following altruistic goals of providing charitable, educational, environmental, public health, scientific, and technological benefits to our community:
- Raise awareness of radon and other carcinogenic vapor intrusion health risks in Colorado homes and businesses.
- Provide integral indoor air contamination measurements and put results into context with chronic exposures and known human health risks.
- Minimize residual indoor air quality concerns by using proven techniques and adhering all applicable standards.
- Reduce overall lung cancer risk from indoor environmental exposures to radon.
- Install energy efficient fans, minimize conditioned air exhaust, prevent combustion appliance backdrafting, and minimize waste during mitigation.
- Seek philanthropic opportunities to improve indoor air quality in the homes of military, foster/adoptive, and low-income families.

President and CEO
Steve has over 16 years of experience as both a private-sector environmental consultant and as a public-sector environmental project manager. He founded Manus Mitigation, Inc. PBC in 2015 to help clients reduce their environmental health risks. He has a B.S. in Chemistry from the Colorado School of Mines and a M.H.P. in Radiation Health Physics from Oregon State University. He served 8 years in the U.S. Army as a Chemical Officer, including tours to Iraq and Korea. He is a board-certified Industrial Hygienist (CP 10685) and has multiple radon and methamphetamine certifications.
Engineering and Mitigation System Installation
Brian has over 30 years of engineering, surveying, and construction management experience in the Pikes Peak Region. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the University of Colorado and he is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE 26736) in the State of Colorado. Brian is also Certified Home Inspector with ASHI and is critical to ensuring that each and every mitigation system is code-compliant, durable, and installed to compliment the other systems in the home.
Secretary and Board Member
Shannon has over 15 years of teaching experience and it serves her well as Manus Mitigation's client concierge and corporate secretary. She works directly with our wonderful customers, scheduling appointments, educating customers on the basics of radon, explaining the procedures involved in radon testing, and outlining general mitigation options. Shannon is a mom to three wonderful children and she's been married to her best friend and business partner Steve since 2009. She enjoys cooking, gardening, camping, hiking, and spending time with her family.
Treasurer and Board Member
Ida is a Certified Public Accountant with over 35 years of construction management and corporate accounting experience. She is the cost containment and billing expert on the Manus Mitigation, Inc. PBC team. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University, she ensures that the books are in order, that billing is properly credited, and that invoices and receipts are delivered quickly to our customers. She enjoys spending time with family, reading, traveling, and writing books.
